Mark Anderson, chairman of Arklow United, added:
"Our under-13 team recently spent the week living as professional footballers at St. Leonard's in Scotland with Celtic.
"The week was packed with training drills, match type situations and challenge games, while the evenings were filled with workshops on lifestyle and nutrition.
"The highlights of the week were many but the trip to Celtic Park and the opportunity to train at Lennoxtown stuck out for the boys and their two coaches who travelled with them.
"As a club in Ireland with lots of players who support Celtic, this trip was a great success, the facilities, coaching and care taken by Celtic with the players and managers was exceptional and all the kids has asked to go back again."
Enda Tourish from Carrick Rovers said:
‘Almost 70 children from the whole North East Region benefit from a fantastic coaching programme from the Celtic coaches.
The camp, which ran from 10am-3pm every day, surpassed all expectations as the children involved were treated to a week of fun filled football and top class coaching from the extremely professional coaching team from Celtic. This is a week that will live long in the memory of all those involved, from the children to the Carrick Rovers club and indeed the wider community, both sporting and otherwise, as we were privileged to have such excellent coaches from such a famous club in our midst.
As the first step in the Club Partnership Programme between Celtic FC and Carrick Rovers it was an undoubted success, as was indicated by the response from the feedback forms which parents returned back to the club, and we can now look forward to building on this fantastic link between our club and the world renowned Celtic FC.’
