How the Celtic Pools Works
Football pools have been around a long time, but you don't need to be an expert to play the Celtic Pools - it couldn't be easier! All team selections and payments to winners are automatic - just submit your stake through your Celtic Pools Agent or by Direct Debit then sit back and relax, knowing that you are supporting youth development at Celtic as well as being in with a chance of sharing in almost £1 million worth of prize money every year.
The weekly Celtic Pools work by allocating a number between 1 and 49 to professional football teams throughout the UK. The numbered teams change every week, and the numbering and allocation is done automatically by the Celtic Pools for every member.
Members are allocated 2 sets of 4 numbers, representing 4 teams, for each £1 entry, giving them 2 chances to win the 8 separate Pools.
Pools 1-6 are won by the member whose team gives them the highest tally in a variety of counts, such as goals for, goals against, etc.
Pools 7 and 8 do not take the teams' results into account, and instead the Celtic Pools computer (like Ernie the Premium Bond computer) randomly selects codes (your combination of 4 numbers representing 4 teams) from any of the 400,000 possible combinations.
Any Pool may be won by more than one member, in which case the prize money is shared.
Remember, the Celtic Pools does all the hard work for you, so you don't need to check your teams or their results every week - Winners will be paid automatically and if you're playing through a Pools Agent, they can deliver you the weekly bulleting detailing the results of all 8 Pools.
How to Play the Celtic Pools
Traditionally, members joined a football pool through an agent, usually a friend, colleague or family member - If you know a Celtic Pools Agent, ask them about joining their agency, or get in touch with the Celtic Pools Office.
When playing through an agent, your £1 weekly stake is collected by the agent and sent to us in your name. Your agent has the weekly winners bulletins to let you see the results of all 8 Pools. More and more agents are switching their membership over to Direct Debit.
Alternatively, you can play the Celtic Pools directly with the club through Direct Debit or your Credit Card, without having a Pools Agent. You can join now through Direct Debit by using our secure server to sign up online or you can download the Direct Debit Mandate, fill in your details and return it to the address on the form, or you can set up a recurring transaction of £4 every four weeks from your credit card by Clicking Here.
