Celtic TV exclusive: Manager warns the tie is not over

IT may have been a great result in Sweden on Tuesday night, but the job is only half-done and with that in mind, Neil Lennon has tempered any talk of premature celebrations.
Tonight on the Huddle Online on Celtic TV, the manager sits down for his weekly interview and talks about handling a series of crucial matches and managing the expectations of a jubilant Celtic support.
He is now preparing his players for one of the most difficult away days in Scottish football against Inverness Caledonian Thistle, following on a 2-0 UEFA Champions League play-off win over Helsingborgs IF, which puts his team firmly in the driving seat.
But, warned the manager: “The tie is not over. A lot of people are already looking out their passports, but for me, we face another concentrated 90 minutes where we are at home and will hopefully have a good crowd behind us – which is very important. With a bit of luck, we can get over the line.
“The way Helsingborg are talking, they are speaking about coming and getting an early goal and putting all the pressure back on us.
“We’re going to try and turn the tables again and get another goal and another goal could kill the tie off. We’re at home, we will take the game to them and see if they can withstand the pressure that comes with playing at Celtic Park.”
In tonight’s interview, the manager talks about finding a balance within a hectic run of fixtures and also speaks about the early impact Kris Commons has made this season.
Looking ahead to Saturday’s game in Inverness, he adds: “This is a really tough schedule for the players, their efforts have been remarkable really.
“We’ll assess the squad today and tomorrow, but will need to make a few changes to the team that played on Tuesday. We will put out the strongest team we possibly can, but will keep one eye on Helsingborg as well.”
